Sumandeep Vidyapeeth, established in 2007, is Gujarat's sole self-financing Deemed to be University dedicated to medical education. It offers a diverse range of programs, including 29 Diploma courses, 18 undergraduate degrees, 64 postgraduate degrees, 12 postgraduate diplomas, 5 super-specialty courses, and PhD programs across various health sciences disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Management.

In 2015, the university received an "A" grade with a CGPA of 3.53 out of 4 from the esteemed National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Additionally, in 2018, the University Grants Commission (UGC) granted Sumandeep Vidyapeeth the Category 1 status under the UGC Categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy Regulations.

From the outset, the university recognized the significance of "authentic, validated evidence" as a key trend promising excellence. As a result, it developed an innovative Evidence-Based Education System that underpins all its academic and professional activities.

Today, the university boasts a sprawling, eco-friendly campus with seven institutes dedicated to education and healthcare, alongside a modern 1,340-bed multispecialty hospital and a dental hospital equipped with 350 high-tech dental chairs. These facilities not only meet the training requirements of the institutions but also provide free or highly subsidized services, ranging from basic life support to super-specialty care for patients across Gujarat and neighboring states.

Since its inception, the institution has made significant progress, evolving into a dynamic and vibrant hub for healthcare education. It remains committed to achieving global excellence in Health Education, Healthcare Services, Evidence-Based Practice, and Research.
